The free Eye test and distribution of reading glasses in Benin City and environs, organized by RAHI Hospitals Limited, Benin City took place at the hospital premises at No 42 Country Home Motel Road, off Sapele Road, Benin City with beneficiaries applauding the hospital for attending to their eye complaints.
As early at 6.30 am in the morning, women, men, youths and aged from within the neighborhood and other parts of the City, with varying complaints of eye related problems had started arriving the venue of the outreach, the hospitals premises, to secure a tally of identification and space for the free eye test. The patients, however conducted themselves in orderly manner making easier for the medical team to attend to them without hitch.
The free Eye test kick-started with the usual instructions and health awareness campaign on healthy living standards, preceding the outreach, by the medical team. Dr Chris Ekiyor, founder/CMD of RAHI Medical Outreach and RAHI Hospitals LTD, was represented at the programme by Dr Chuks Nwaka.
The nurses at the hospital took vital signs of patients to ascertain their health status before being attended to by the team of Opticians at the outreach. Tests for visual acuity were carried out on the patients while reading glasses and drugs were prescribed as the cases may be, to the visually impaired. Most cases that needed surgical procedures were referred accordingly to the hospital’s eye section for prompt care and attention.
Beneficiaries of the programme, who could not hide their excitement were full of appreciation to the Management of RAHI Hospitals LTD, Benin City for the free Eye test, which they said have helped in providing results to their eye related cases.
