Residents of Opobo town and neighbouring communities of Nkoro, Queenstown, Kalibiama, Minima, Eloma, Okpukpu, Epelema and Anacolinus has commended RAHI Medical Outreach/NDDC partnership for the free medical outreach and distribution of relief materials currently going on at Opobo town in Opobo/Nkoro LGA of Rivers state.
The weeklong programme which was flagged off on Monday 31 October 2016 have continued to experience large influx of residents to the Outreach venue which they described as the most coordinated medical mission in history of the town.
In an interview with beneficiaries of the programme after receiving medical attention from the team, they recalled that the last time they had such programmed was eight years ago.
Children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, aged, physically challenged and youths came out in their numbers to avail themselves the opportunity of the free medical mission.
The records unit ensured that all patients were registered on daily basis. The other units which include nursing, laboratory, eye and general out-patients were not left in the free medical services. All cases were treated with care by the Doctors on duty and referrals made where necessary as a follow-up measure.
In keeping with community participation, some members of the community were incorporated into the volunteer team on arrival for effective and all encompassing medical outreach.
More residents are expected to troop into the outreach venue in the coming days with the level of awareness of the medical mission in the community and enthusiasm from the people.
