OPOROZA EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAMME
The RAHI/NDDC food and free medical emergency relief programme has been flagged off at Oporoza, traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West LGA of Delta state.
The programme which sets out to provide free medical services and distribution of food items to inhabitants is recovery process aimed at rehabilitating the displaced individuals as a result of the military invasion of the community arising from the activities of militants in the creeks.
In their separate speeches, Hon Kelly Penawei representative of Delta State government, Dr George Uzodimma, representing NDDC and Dr Chris Ekiyor, founder RAHI Medical Outreach each solidarised with Oporoza community on the military invasion of which many families were yet return to their normal activities.
They said the free medicals will go a long way in addressing the health needs of the people while the food items will act as support base since most them have not gone back to their farming and fishing profession.
Responding, the representatives of the community executives, elders, women and youth groups who recalled their ordeal during the military invasion of the community thanked RAHI/NDDC for coming to their rescue and maintained that they are peace loving people.
The event featured presentation of food items and free medical services provided by the RAHI Team.
